Drawing a parallel, consider a seemingly simple 3-ingredient recipe. It might appear straightforward, but the end result can be hit or miss. For instance, I've struggled with baking a proper batch of cookies and don't get me started on the intricacies of a Japanese cheesecake.

In the digital realm, while some ads might come across as effortless, remember that catching your attention is merely the tip of the iceberg. Behind every attention-grabbing ad is a combination of strategy, creativity, and execution. The actual ad, complete with its visuals and description, is just the culmination of a detailed process.

Structurally, ad campaigns on most platforms comprise three elements: the campaign, the ad set, and the ad itself. It's akin to a 3-ingredient, 2-step, under-60-seconds recipe. In cooking, preparation is key, from cleaning and chopping ingredients to seasoning and cooking. Once all is prepared and combined, only then do you have your finished dish. Not to forget the clean-up afterwards!

In advertising, preparation is equally paramount. At the campaign level, you align with a specific objective that matches your goal. At the ad set level, precision is key as you define your target audience, allocate your budget, and set the campaign's duration. Lastly, the ad stage requires selecting the creative type, crafting it, and finalizing the headline and description.

Success, however, is not always guaranteed. Just as I once made delicious cinnamon rolls on a lucky first attempt, but failed on my second try despite equal effort, ad campaigns can sometimes misfire. Sometimes, it's more efficient to buy ready-made cinnamon rolls—or in the case of advertising, to hire experts.
